| (Narrator) The Mohawk is the last of the Coast Guard's 13 Famous Cutter Class ships. A Medium Endurance Cutter, the Mohawk measures 270 feet from stem to stern. |

(Narrator) It is powered by two 4000 horsepower diesel engines and it has a top speed of 19.5 knots and a maximum range of nine thousand nine hundred miles. |
| (Narrator) Within the ship, there are six levels of operational space which house and support a crew of 100 men and women -- 14 officers and 86 enlisted. |
| (Narrator) The Mohawk's primary missions are law enforcement, defense operations and search and rescue. It's armed with one MK 75mm gun and two 50 caliber machine guns. |
| (Narrator) Its flight deck is capable of landing several types of helicopters. The ship is equipped with two small boats used in law enforcement and rescue operations. |
